Raffaelo Cimbro, direktor jedinice za protočnu citometriju u tvrtki AstraZeneca, Cambridge, UK, održat će seminar “Imaging Flow Cytometry: Innovation from Discovery to the Clinic” u ponedeljak 27. listopada u O-269 u 15 h.

Abstract:

Over the past decade, flow cytometry has rapidly advanced with spectral flow cytometry adoption and, more recently, the introduction of next-generation imaging cytometers. This technology combines flow cytometry’s speed and statistical power with detailed morphological and localization information traditionally obtained through microscopy.

This presentation will highlight the potential of imaging flow cytometry to improve cell therapy efficacy, immunomodulatory drug characterization, and vaccine development, focusing on results obtained with the camera-based Attune CytPix system and the Photomultiplier Tube (PMT)-based imaging detection FACSDiscover S8/A8 platforms. The CytPix provides real-time brightfield imaging of individual cells in flow, enabling morphological classification and integration with fluorescence detection for cellular characterization. The FACSDiscover platforms combine spectral flow cytometry, cell sorting, and real-time fluorescent-based imaging cytometry to track the localization of up to three markers while enabling deep immunophenotyping. These platforms enable the analysis of complex biological processes such as cell signaling, cell-to-cell interaction, and phagocytosis.
